Many classes are starting to work on their research and informational pieces. Please remind your students to check out our library webpage. Listed there you will find links and sites that are related to their topics. In addition, listed are databases that will save them time and energy sifting through ads and spam.
Also, BIG UNIVERSE has many non-fiction titles and encyclopedias online that they can access and use for their research as well.

Thanks for the info. I love the free kindle site and the readwritethink site. How research has changed! Remember pouring through the "Readers Digest" to find an article? Research has turned from walking through the desert to drinking from a fire hose. Our kids have a universe of information at their fingertips that they need to learn how to shape, control, and make sense of.
I was just reading that Harvard is named Harvard because of the library that was given to the school, about 1000 books (I'm resisting the urge to google this to fact check myself). The largest collection of books in the Americas at the time. Jeferson sold/donated his library of 6,000 books to the United States to start the Library of Congress. Now you could fit both of these libraries on a Kindle and carry them in your pocket.
