The Caldecott Award is given to the book with the best art work. This year the winner is:

Honor Dave the Potter- Illustrated by Bryan Collier and written by Laban Carrick Hill.
Interrupting Chicken- Illustrated and written by David Ezra Stein.
The Newbery Award is given to the author for the most distinguished writing.

Honor: Dark Emperor and Other Poems of the Night- Written by Joyce Sidman.
